Some of these full-time programmes are also available by ACCS, (Accumulation of Credits and Certification of Subjects) which allows those who may be in full-time employment to follow programmes for individual subjects in courses offered in any number of designated institutions.
The Institute also caters for Craft Apprentices who are registered with FAS, and Tourism and Hospitality students registered with CERT. We are increasingly involved in Research and in special programmes promoted by the European Union which ensures interaction between the Institute and Industry, and between the Institute and Higher Education Institutions abroad.
The relevance and continuous review of our courses ensures that our graduates are well-prepared to compete in a challenging world of Industry, Business & Art and Design. In this Academic Year, it is expected over 4,000 students will enrol on Full-time Courses and over 1,600 enrolled on part-time Evening Courses, in addition to Craft Apprentices and Hospitality students in a wide-range of disciplines, making a total student population in excess of 6,500.
The Institute is now completing a multi-million pound building programme comprising of new buildings and the refurbishment of existing buildings on the main campus at Moylish Park.
A full-size All Weather Pitch has also been completed on this site and the provision of additional sports facilities are planned for the coming year. The new Aula Maxima and Millennium Theatre are in constant use and further development of the new E Learning Resource Centre are well under way. The development of our Clare St. Campus refurbishment is nearing completion and all courses, with the exception of Fashion and Sculpture, are now located on this centrally located campus.
